High Level Throwing: Staggered Stance Arm Behind Throws

ONE Softball is committed to bringing you technical information that is factual and modeled by what the best players actually do. We will periodically bring you short videos that show throwing biomechanics, drills, and tips.

This drill helps athletes feel resistance or separation between the hips and trunk by locking in the hips as the trunk can rotate freely. This is the reason why we have a same arm/same leg set-up, so those athletes can feel this tension and separation being created. The arm behind set up helps athletes understand pathway and shape and to focus on the shoulder blade initiating the arm back into load.
